Surface accuracy on export

Surface accuracy on export

Surface accuracy on export

(OP)
I have to export SW to Pro/E.  In Pro/E, I have to run the model through a checking software add-in.  After fiddling with the accuracy in Pro/E, I can produce some results.

This leads to my question.  Can I increase surface accuracy from SolidWorks before exporting the models?  All I seem to see is video accuracy, but nothing to do with surface accuracy, or am I missing it somewhere in the options?

RE: Surface accuracy on export

You can build surfaces in ways that they are face-tangent.  Is that what you mean or are you talking specifically about export options?

I think what is exported is 100% accurate to the model as-built--so I'm thinking the problem may be in the way the surfaces were constructed and with what options were used along the way (such as face-tangency in sweeps, lofts, etc.--it's an option, not a given).

You can use the Zebra-stripes tool in the viewing toolbar (needs to be custom-added) to check your surfaces for anomalies before exporting--to see if the surface problems are a result of the export or the SolidWorks techniques.
