Trim materials Ball Valves

Trim materials Ball Valves

Trim materials Ball Valves

(OP)
Hi,

Anybody having experience in selecting trim materials for Valves? Specified was 17-4PH for Ball Valves in a non sour hydrocarbon gas application (high pressure class 2500#).

Fabricator have valves assembled with F6 internals (13% Cr.)

As far as we know 17-4PH is a better material with respect to corrosion as well as strength.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be more than welcome and of course very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
FKE

RE: Trim materials Ball Valves

Hello FK,

What is the handling fluid and what is design temperature?
For your reference, as internal materials F6(13Cr), which is 400 series stainless steel can be used as a minimun unless  severe conditions.
