How to open prt with out opening the asm?

How to open prt with out opening the asm?

(OP)
Every time i open a prt, the assembly from which it was derived opens with it. Is there a way to abort this process? (the "cancel" dialog is not available until it is too late)

RE: How to open prt with out opening the asm?

Go to TOOLS-OPTIONS-SYSTEM OPTIONS-EXTERNAL REFERENCES. There you can change the preferences of how you want solidworks to re-act to referenced documents.

To fix your problem you may want to have the option for loading referenced documents set to NONE. Hope this helps!

Best Regards,
Jon
