eDrawings Settings

(OP)
In order not to buy extra SW licenses we use eDrawings to plot detailed SW drawings.
When eDrawings open SW drawing with slddrw extension, parts are displayed with tangent edges visible even if their corresponding drawings were created with tangent edges hiden.
I could not find any settings in eDrawings to solve that problem.
Please help.

Andrzej

RE: eDrawings Settings

When saving the slddrw file, did you save it with the Tools > Options > System Options > General ... Save eDrawing data in SolidWorks file option enabled?

Not sure if that will help, but worth a try.

cheers

SW2006 SP3.3 does not have this option but I hope SP3.4 has
Thank you.

RE: eDrawings Settings

According to our VAR, eDrawings 2006 loads the native SolidWorks files; the eDrawings data does not need to be saved with them, so that option is not there in SW2006.

To answer your question, Andrzej, I am not aware of a way to do what you are trying to do in eDrawings.

RE: eDrawings Settings

I created a drawing with three identical views (SW Office 2006 SP3.0), one with tangent edges removed, one with tangent edges with font and one with tangent edges visible. I saved and opened the drawing in eDrawings Professional 2006 SP2. First and second views showed correctly, the third one was shown with tangent edges removed instead of visible. That's the way they printed too. Could this be related to the video card? Mine is an nVidia GeForce 6800GT with 256 MB RAM.

Dogarila,
It is very strange to me, your dwgs shows all views with tangent edges removed and that's what we want to show and print to make our sheet metal dept. work easier.
I doubt the problem is caused by video card, it has to something with the data being saved for further reading by eDrawings.
I have NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4200.
Shouldn't eDrawings have an option for tangent edges visible or removed?

RE: eDrawings Settings

andrzej01 ... This problem could very well be caused by the video card. Although some of the GeForce cards have the "Passed" category at http://www.solidworks.com/pages/services/videocardtesting.html,
they are not reccomended by SW.

As for the "option for tangent edges visible or removed" in eDrawings ... submit an Enhancement Request to SW. If enough people do that, it may be included.

cheers
