Mobile Radios Systems Information

(OP)
Hi:

I am involved in the acceptance and selection of a radio mobile system for a new oil productionf field (aprox 40 miles diameter of this field).

Actually, I have not experience in these systems because I 've always worked with control industry and power industry.

Could anyone suggest me a good link/s where I can find basic and advanced information about these systems (antennas, repeaters, variables to take, power of the repeaters, reception, links, channels, tones, etc.)or where I could find a good tutorial?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Mobile Radios Systems Information

Check Amazon.com for the ARRL amateur radio handbook.  This will include an affordable book and CD-ROM.  I assume that you are looking at the 900 MHz spread spectrum frequency hopping stuff if it is data.  If it is voice then it could be other UHF/VHF frequencies.
