Friction COefficients
Friction COefficients
(OP)
Hello Everybody,
I am looking for data about static/dynamic coefficients of friction between rubber and steel (low-carbon) for dry and for oily conditions.
Untill now I was able to find very little information.
I'll appriciate if you could either direct me to any web-site that contain this info or post the relevant pages.
Regards,
Ariky

I'd be careful using values from a published table. There's so many things that come into play with friction between those two metals (surface finish, normal pressure, other conditions) that any kind of 'general' table is, in my experience, usually way off. A good paper (pdf) on these difficulties and subtleties is at http://www.axelproducts.com/downloads/Friction.pdf .
