(OP)
A question has come up, and I am unable to find the answer. A contractor placed a cross beam in an older building as a retrofit, the old beam is indicated on the plans to have SFRM applied, but not to the new cross beam, all the technical directors I have spoken with tell me that for heat transfer, the cross beam has to have SFRM applied 12" past the exisiting member connection point. The contractor has indicated unless he see's that in writing, he wont pay for it. anyone know where I can find that? If it is even a requirement?
