Link for 2 zones radio repeater

Link for 2 zones radio repeater

Link for 2 zones radio repeater

(OP)
Hi:

In a current mobile radios system with 2 zones repeaters (and antennas of course)located 40 miles appart one from another, there is a project to replace the old repeaters with 2 kenwood tkr 850. These repeaters will have 20 miles of influence, so it has to be installed a link.
Could the new system link the 2 zones using the same channels for those two zones??
Thanks in advance

RE: Link for 2 zones radio repeater

40 miles is greater than 20 miles, so you'd have to do something like adding additional receivers with high gain antennas aimed at each other's location. Or add a separate 2-way link on another set of frequencies (often UHF or microwave, sometimes a phone line).

RE: Link for 2 zones radio repeater

You can't chain the repeaters?
