Using inp. files from ABAQUS Example Problems Manual

Using inp. files from ABAQUS Example Problems Manual

(OP)
Hi,

Have anyone tried to input *.inp files from the forming analyses in ABAQUS Example Problems (Documentation, section 1.3) ?

I have been trying some of the examples, and I have problems with some of them.

Example 1.3.13 Ring Rolling, shows me a windows with the following message:  "NameError:readerMessages", several other examples give the same error. And others like: Example 1.3.12 Section Rolling, give an error due to unconstrained nodes.

All these *.inp files are from ABAQUS Documentation. Is it possible that there is a problem with them? or I am missing something?

Thanks

RE: Using inp. files from ABAQUS Example Problems Manual

Are you trying to read the files into CAE?  You may be better running the jobs from the ABAQUS command prompt instead.  A lot of the example files pre-date CAE, so are not all that CAE friendly smile
