xdb versus op2

(OP)
MSC Patran provides the possibility to chose between XDB or OP2 result files. Can anyone tell what the properties and the advantages and disadvantages of both file types are?

Browsing the manuals as well as searching Google gives no helpful answers.

Thanks in advance!!

RE: xdb versus op2

XDB allows you to read data in selectively.  OP2 does not.  XDB is a newer format but is less documented.
