Piping Library installation

Piping Library installation

Piping Library installation

(OP)
I am on Se v18 and just recently installed the Pipe Library, but from what I understand it is a database that needs to be populated. I can't figure out how to populate it and my administrator is no help because this is new to him also. Is there any written instructions out there for populating it, and I don't have a sold-to ID, because corp. office won't give it to us.

RE: Piping Library installation

Hi,

When you go to Start/Programs/Solid Edge Vxx, do you have a 'standard Parts' choice ?

If yes : click 'administrator', click 'add parts' and wait an hour and a half.

If no : you need to install the program files for Standard Parts. You can do that by inserting your SE CD, choosing Other Solid Edge products/Standard Parts/Standard Parts free content. Then run the installation (no need to install the master files). Then go back to the top of this message.

Frederic,

I did as you instructed, but all I can see in the database are a few base items, not everything that is suppost to come with the piping library. Am I missing something or will all of the parts be generated they just don't show in the database (which makes no sense to me if that is the case.)

RE: Piping Library installation

Hi again,

Are you sure you bought the piping library ? Also, did you install it ? (check in Control Panel/Add-remove programs : Solid Edge Piping Library should be listed).

Yes I am sure that it is installed, but I now think that it is a License problem, but my contact at corp. says it is not since Xpresroute is working. Is he correct and if so what is my problem with not seeing all of the fittings, or how can I prove to him that it is a license problem if it is.

RE: Piping Library installation

Hi,

I'm not sure. Check again what I said in my previous message.

Otherwise, you can look what seems to be there in the file SELicense.dat in Solid Edge Vxx/Program.

RE: Piping Library installation

I'M TRYING TO USE THE SOLIDEDGE SHEET METAL FUNCTION TO CREATE A SQUARE TO ROUND TRANSITION IN SHEET METAL FROM A 257mm DIA PIPE TO A 330 X 174 RECTANGLE PIPE. I WANT THE WELDMENT TO BE IN 4 QUADRANTS WITH THE SEAMS MEETING THE CORNERS OF THE RECTANGLE OPENING.
SOLIDEGDE LETS ME MODEL IT BUT DOESNT LET ME FLATTEN IT FOR THE PROFILE.
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?
