Sweep Problem

Sweep Problem

Sweep Problem

(OP)
Hello,

I am using sweep to create a closed loop slot in NX3, but the result is a random cut that goes on and off the part.

I am starting the sweep on the midpoint of a guide string and the part was modelled in an older version of UG. Both guide and section strings are full constrained.

Cheers

Darran

Minesabeer,
First thingy first, and repeat after me; "I will never start a sweep at the midpoint of a guide string, lest the UG Gods send gremlins to muck up me model beyond all recognition and frustrate me to an early grave...".

Still have the same problem, although not starting there did improve things slightly

RE: Sweep Problem

Minesabeer,
Can you be a bit more specific on the shape of the section string and guide string?  Have you tried other features, such as 'swept'?  Is the sweep twisting?  Is the feature pivoting about an axis, and if so are you defining the axis or relying on the guide string?

The section string is a trapeziodal shape and the guide string is shaped like a the perimeter of a simple head gasket.
The sweep does not twist or pivot. It only seems to throw itself out when it hits a rad and then rejoins after.
