Positions and salary in design

(OP)
Hello all,

I am a senior in college right now and about to graduate this may.  I am looking towards a career in the manufacturing industry.  I currently have a job offer from a company here in the Chicagoland area.  I was wondering as to what kind of salary to expect for what types of positions.  If any of you woudlnt mind posting a short description of your position and a salary range that woudl be greatly apreciated.  Also what about growth within the company what type of promotions are availible within the field and salary ranges for those promotions.  Thanks in advance.

RE: Positions and salary in design

68Camaro,
Can you be more specific?  I just left a job from that general area and have a pretty good idea of what's available as far as design on UG with a manufacturing background.  Are you looking at automotive, aerospace, other?  OEM or a supplier? Actually in the Chicagoland burbs, or further out?  What do you actually want to do?  What do you think will make you happy?  How much money will make you happy?  As much detail as possible please...
You could always dial up a few recruiters and see what they have to say (taken with a pinch of salt of course) and hit the salary boards for another source of info...
