I have SW 2006 on my computer at work -2005, on my computer at home.  Anybody figured out a way to look at 2006 files, on 2005?  Parasolids - wonderful technique, if you just want the actual physical part - and not the methods used to create, but what do you do to get those methods?

RE: SW 2006 to SW 2005

The only way is to use the FeatureWorks add-in (if you have it) to recognise & create the features from the parasolid file. There is no guarantee however, that FW will recreate the features exactly like the SW06 version.

If you don't have FW you are SOL.

Why not just upgrade your SW version at home to '06?

cheers

I agree.
Have your IT group set you up for a home license.

Not that easy - I'm one of those fly-by-night contractors.  (Doesn't mean I won't try, though.)

RE: SW 2006 to SW 2005

A while back, I too was doing some "after hours" contracting for a local company which used Solid Edge. Part of the deal was that they arranged for me to use a home license. All legit providing that license was not being used in two places at the same time. The same can be done with SW.
