Do blowdown valves need double piston effect seals?

Do blowdown valves need double piston effect seals?

Do blowdown valves need double piston effect seals?

(OP)
I have a HC gas compression application with a number of BDVs of ball type. Pressure classes range from #150 to #1500. I cannot see that double piston effect seat rings are specified anywere explicitly.
Question: Is there any advantage, or even a necessity, to use double piston effect, as opposed to self relieving, seat rings? Note that the output from all valves goes to the flare system, which is close to atmospheric.
