Customizing Custom Properties

Customizing Custom Properties

Customizing Custom Properties

(OP)
I was looking to perform 2 things with custom properties:

1. When starting a new part, have the custom properties window comeup automatically.

2. Create pull down lists for custom properties entries (i.e. Materials, When a material spec is added in custom propeties, a list of available materials will display allowing you to choose one)

It seems to me I've seen something out there for both but can't locate them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Customizing Custom Properties

The first one can probably be done with a macro feature, and the second one is available as a macro or small app for free in various forms.  Google "SolidWorks custom property application", or some variation, and you will find lots of stuff.  You might have to know a little VB to customize the dropdown lists, but this is easy.

RE: Customizing Custom Properties

look for the PropertyEditorSpec macro on this page:

I have used it before, sounds like what you are looking for.
