hi,

I know that you can use manipulation and compass to move parts around in a product, but is there a way to move the part in x,y, or z direction by certain amount.
For example, move a part in y direction by 20mm or something like that.

thank you .

RE: move part in product

Yes - you just have to double click on the compass.  You will have every option available that you could ever want for angle and linear translation.

You will need to align the compass the same as you would normally, and pay attention to the vectors, based on your alignment.

You can use the compass the same in both parts and assemblies.

Use the compass.
In the centre of the compass there is a red box.
Put your cursor over it and then hit the right hand mouse button.

Then select edit from the menu.

Now you can translate and rotate anyway u like.
