Tianjin, China - Seismic Zone

(OP)
I'm looking for some insight and/or a confirmation on the seismic zone requirements in Tianjin, China. What I've been told and been able to unearth to date is that the area uses a seismic code that ranges from 1 to 10 (I can only assume it is based on a log scale - which probably means it isn't :). My same source thought the soccer stadium recently completed was a chinese zone 7 and designed by the UBC seismic zone 4. I need to make some assumptions based on the IBC 2003 for a structural steel tower and CIP concrete building. Any further insight would be appreciated before I up and learn Chinese in less than a month.

PTslab,

Try the following site.  I don't think it will give you any specific correlation beween the US and China but may still be interesting info.
