Does anyone know anything about where to buy flint (ferrocerium) rod?

RE: Ferrocerium Rod - Flint Fire Starter

I would start at a manufacturer of firestarters or striker companies.  Try Doans, Bernzomatic, Zippo for starters.  Otherwise, you could try a magnet manufacturing company, they might be able to formulate and press the FC sticks for you.  Pyrotechnic companies may also use this, as it is highly flammable in powder form.

Thanks ornerynorsk.  I will try to contact one of these.

A past thread may help
Sources for FerroCerium Rods?
thread330-114564

Googling on 'ferrocerium UN1323' gives some suppliers and MSDS's (which list the supplier).

Also, look for foundry suppliers, as cerium, ferrocerium, mischmetal, etc. are used in casting of aluminium alloys, cast irons, steels, stainless steel, magnesium alloys...

Thanks kenvlach.
I will check each of the sites on Google and see what turns up.  I called the vender in the earlier forum and they no longer sell it, but gave a company in Canada.  I've called them and they are checking on prices, etc.

I appreciate your help.
Steve
