Are there any computer programs for drilled footing/caissons?  If so, what are the names of the software.

RE: Drilled Footing / Caissons

Go to this link:

http://www.dot.state.fl.us/Structures/proglib.htm

Then download "Drilled Shaft Design for Sign and Signal Structures, v1.1,” This will require MathCAD to run it.

It is free compliments of state of Florida and its taxpayers that I represent.

Use at your own risk. You must be familiar with the theory and practical aspects.

Lutfi

No joke- if you are drilling piles/piers or caissons, that implies you are putting some structure of value on some piece of property. Foundations are the only part of the building that is nearly impossible to fix if you screw up.

RE: Drilled Footing / Caissons

For straight vertical column loads, the design of drilled piers isn't rocket science.  In fact, I've done quite a few over the years and never felt a need for even a spreadsheet to do them.

For lateral type conditions (like what Lutfi responds to) I would suggest that there aren't enough programs out there.
