Broken-Out View Problem

Broken-Out View Problem

Broken-Out View Problem

(OP)
Hello Everyone

I have a problem when I do a Broken-Out View in my Assembly Drawing.  I get a Update Drawing window appearing when I save the Drawing which states the following.

"Views on inactive sheets needs updating. If they are not updated, these views will appear empty when the drawing is opened in the SolidWorks Viewer or in View only mode. Note that the update operation might increase the time required to save the drawing.  Update the drawing?"

I update the Drawing by selecting the Yes button but, the Update Drawing window stills appears when I save the Drawing.  I have gone into all the Components and Sub-Assemblies and done a Forced Rebuild. I'm not sure what else to do so that the window will not appear when saving operation.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Cheers,

RE: Broken-Out View Problem

Did the problem exist before creating the Broken-out Section?
If you eliminate the Broken-out Section, does the problem still exist?

Before I did the Broken-Out Section the Drawing saves normally, with no window appearing.  I redid the Drawing from scratch a second time to see if I could see when and what was causing the Update Drawing window to appear. Everything is ok until I do the Broken-Out Section and do a save.  I never had this issue before now, I have done lots of Broken-Out Sections but not with this result.  After selecting the yes button the Views get the crosshatch appearing but, they disappear after the operation is completed, so the Views should be updated.  But, when I save the Drawing a few minutes later the Update Drawing window appears again.  I have 3 Broken-Out Sections in this Drawing.  Thanks on the congrats, I did the Exam using SW2006.

RE: Broken-Out View Problem

I've never seen that before either. If no-one else here has a solution I would report it to your VAR as a possible bug/glitch. (if you haven't already)

RE: Broken-Out View Problem

It's possible some geometry is not cutting properly in the broken out sect. I had this once. I had to redo a fillet to make it work.

RE: Broken-Out View Problem

I don't have any advice, but I've had this happen to me a number of times, and not always with a broken-out view.

Just wanted to let you know it's not just you.

RE: Broken-Out View Problem

When you update the drawing, the associative model has to be set to resolved mode; I think this is the cause of the problem.

I tried your suggestion and I still get the same results.  I double checked to make sure that the Assembly and all its components were resolved.  Thanks for the assistance.
