Liners for Static Water Level Detention Ponds

(OP)
Any recommendations for liners to be used in lieu of compacted Clay for creating static water level detention ponds in sandy soil? or is Clay lining still the most cost-effective way to creat water amenities in residentail subd?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks
David

RE: Liners for Static Water Level Detention Ponds

you could use a bentonite/fbric liner. the bentonite is sandwiched in a fabfic. Roll it out and cover with sand.

I belive the bentonite liner comes in 10mm or 20mm thickness and is is self sealing . If used in a residential subdivision you may have to protect it with some type of solid covering like a  4 "fabriform concrete mat.
Bentonite liner covered with Fabriform is used in applications where some pond access is necessary  for equipment servicing or just general clean out occasionally.
