1971 Sect. I versus current
1971 Sect. I versus current
(OP)
In the 1971 version of Sect. I, PG-31 gives the calcs for unstayed flat heads.
In Fig. PG-31 (e)(f)(g) C=0.5m with C min. = 0.3
Can anybody tell me if this is still the case with the current code?

(e), (f) and (g-1) circular covers C = 0.33m, Cmin = 0.2, noncircular covers C = 0.33
where
m = tr/ts
tr = required thk of shell
ts = specified min thk of shell

In this instance the current value of C (0.2min) will raise the max DP to over 200psi where the old version (o.3min) only permits 150psi.
I would love to get copies of current codes for all jurisdictions Europe and US, but my main concern is with Aust. and I am spending too much on these standards as it is.
In the meantime, i will have to keep going to the library.
