pipe support span for carbon steel with cement lined

(OP)
I am looking for the pipe span for the cement lined carbon steel pipe for the water project. The pipe size is from 6" to 24". The pipe is typically standard wt pipe with 1/4" thick lined inside. Can any one help?

RE: pipe support span for carbon steel with cement lined

It has been many years since I did any cement lined piping.  However i do remember this.  We did not change the pipe support spacing for the cement lined cooling water piping. The cement lining is not concrete.  It is a rather light weight mixture that does not have any aggregate in it.  The weight of the (1/4') of cement is about the same or less than the displaced (1/4") of water.

AWWA Manual M11 is a good general reference for cementlined steel pipe, including some support issues.

Be careful! Density of gunite for example is twice that of water. Also, pipe delections may need to be less. Consult a standard as rconner suggests.

Go t www.acipco.com and look at their design manuals.
