Applying colors to faces (2 part question)

Applying colors to faces (2 part question)

Applying colors to faces (2 part question)

(OP)
I have an assembly model showing an exploded view of components that will be bolted to a concrete floor and concrete block wall.  The texture that I applied is perfect for the application but the holes that I show in the concrete blend in too good and are hard to see.  I tried to change the color of the ID face of the holes but no change takes place.  What am I doing wrong?

Also I added a brick texture to the concrete wall but the scale of the brick pattern is too big.  Is there a way to scale the brick texture pattern so that they are an appropriate size for the room?

Thanks in advance for what is probably a stupid oversight on my part.

Bloodclot

Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?

RE: Applying colors to faces (2 part question)

Use the Shaded with edges option to help delineate the hole edges.

When placing the texture you can adjust the scale & angle in the Texture Manager section.

Adjusting the lighting can also work wonders when trying to highlight or exagerate edges or features.
