air reservoir and valve problem

(OP)
Hello,

An air reservoir (volume V at pressure P) is connected to a pneumatic system of volume v<V, operating at a max pressure p<P, through a valve with a given maximum volumetric flow rate (at a certain pressure drop). Pipes section area is known.

The system needs a minimum mass flow rate to work properly. How can I verify if the valve can cope with this required mass flow rate? Also, how to calculate the variation of mass flow rate over time, assuming a finite volume of air in the reservoir?

Assuming compressible flow

Thank you

John
