estimating the weight of a chemical plant

estimating the weight of a chemical plant

(OP)
Hi folks,

in order to estimate the scrap refund to be expected from a total plant demolition just a brief question.

Is 100 to 200 kg per m3 plant volume a realistic number for an open steel structure?
What is your experience?

I look forward to your answers.

Kind Regards,
hahor

RE: estimating the weight of a chemical plant

what weight do you want? The total weight including piping and equipment? or only the weight of the steel structure?

RE: estimating the weight of a chemical plant

(OP)
Hello Raymond,

thank you for trying to help me.

We need some resonable ratios for guessing the weight of steel structure including equipment.

For example:
empty structure 40 ... 50 kg/m3
with pumps and light equipment: 70 ... 100 kg/m3
and so on

Many thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,
hahor
