Bond symbols on drawings.

Bond symbols on drawings.

Bond symbols on drawings.

(OP)
What symbols are used to identify the bonding process on assembly drawings. I've got a mesh in contact with a flat surface. The contact points are one inch by one inch, each requiring spot bonding.

A leader with direction to the notes?

Any help will be greatly appeciated. Thanks

RE: Bond symbols on drawings.

Leader & symbols can be the same as for welding and brazing, with the process typically called out by the note, ideally referencing a seperate procedure.

RE: Bond symbols on drawings.

And much like a weld procedure, your bond procedure should specify things like:

Surface preparation
Temperature limits
Sequence
Primers
Amount and type of adhesive
Clamping
Cure time (UV intensity if using a UV cure product)
