File management system

(OP)
Hi everyone.

I recently started working in a company with four (maybe five in a couple of weeks) solidworks users.

We are having problems with file sharing, multiple revisions, and multiple copies of the same part in different folders. I am trying to convince them to buy a file management system to fix the problem.

So, here is the question: which system do you recomend (in terms of cost, user friendlyness, reliability, etc...).
I know there is PDM works, but also heard of CONISIO which is a  certified gold product by solidworks.

What are your thaughts on the subject?

Thank you

Hi all, thanks for the links,

Maybe my question was not clear (english is my second language), what I want to know about is File management system comparisons. Everyone talks only about PDMworks, but their are other programms to... Or, does it means that PDM works is THE way to go and that other programms just don't cut it?

RE: File management system

GoWithTheFlo ... I think you should re-read thread559-106196 I suggested before. Although not in great depth, it does discuss other PDM programs such as;

ProductCenter
Eigner
Matrix
DBWorks
Conisio
SmarTeam
Arena Solutions
Meridian
Adept

I doubt you will find an unbiased, definitive comparison of PDM softwares. Like other members here, you will probably have to get trial copies or watch demos to find the best fit for your needs.

cheers

RE: File management system

I agree with CBL. Check them out, it depends on your company. I prefer PDMW myself. Smarteam is good. They all have their + and -.
