transistor mounted in a dinrail module

A lot of vendors like phoenix contact, entralec sell these dinrail interface modules that have relays, optos, sensors, timers, data acquisition units inside them. Does anyone know where I can find a NPN transistor type din rail module? Just has a simple transistor inside?

RE: transistor mounted in a dinrail module

That'll be a problem.

If you can find one that has a really whimpy DC SSR (much more likely) you could use it to drive your original SSR inverting the sense to match your software.

thanks. I'll try.

RE: transistor mounted in a dinrail module

Not sure why you'd want to do this, but why not purchase one of the 3-contact rail-mount modules, and a couple of endplates.  These usually have a cavity large enough for the smaller transistors.  If you needed more volume, I have seen proto boxes with rail mount features on the backsides.

3-contact rail-mount modules? Do you mean 3-point terminal blocks, like from Wago or Phoenix contact?

RE: transistor mounted in a dinrail module

Yes, sorry about the confusion.  Not sure who makes the ones we have here, but they have a hollow inside that looks big enough to accept smaller TO-92 can transistors and the like.

RE: transistor mounted in a dinrail module

fuseshut; as btrue suggests, there are even DIN rail "enclosures" you can purchase to mount your own circuit boards in.  You could probably use one of those with point to point wiring.

THanks itsmoked. Yes I have seen din-rail mounted enclosures. Use them all the time. I was looking for a quick modular solution. That's a good suggestion though!
