Bom Information

(OP)
i have posted here twice and everyone has been really helpful, i have a another question and seeking advice on how to handle it, it involves putting data in the bom to remain linked to the model i have a drawing where i need to show additional details (typical engineering details, detail a, detail b etc..) how can i show the details and have the measurements of the part linked to the bom in my properties for bom once i use the description property it wont allow me to use it again in that drawing, if this is not clear i will try and post a copy of the drawing..

RE: Bom Information

I'm not meaning to be critical, but I'm having trouble reading your unpunctuated post, and understanding the question.
Please post images if it will help. See FAQ559-1100.

Are you asking how to read dimensions into a BOM?

cheers

RE: Bom Information

(I could be interpreting your problem entirely wrong.)  But it sounds to me like a mixture of 'design tables, equations, and maybe another configuration may be in order.  You can link a separate table in your Drawing to the design table's values.

RE: Bom Information

If I'm reading you right - The BOM pulls the descriptions from the custom properties of the part model.  Open the part model and then show feature dimensions.  Then go to File, Properties and place your cursor in the description property where you want the linked dim to show up.  Select the dim from the screen.  The description will now be linked to the dim.

You will not be able to do this from the drawing
