Problem with Drawing Formats

Problem with Drawing Formats

Problem with Drawing Formats

(OP)
Hi Folks,

I recently set up standard drawing formats for our company.

When I bring these into a drawing, all entities that were created with the 'Drawing Sketcher Tools' tool bar, namely straight lines and circles are lost. I used these features to create such things as the page border, ‘third angle projection symbol’ etc.

From what I remember, these are imported into the drawing initially when the format is used. Somewhere along the line they are lost with updates to the drawing etc. Incidentally, there are no problems with tables and the text within, only drawn entities.

Any comments welcome!

RE: Problem with Drawing Formats

Hi Speedy,

Are these on a layer, try turning all the layers on.
Another thing to try is view, update all sheets.  There are some config.pro options that may need to be set or changed, not sure which ones yet.

RE: Problem with Drawing Formats

You have it a bit backward, tables are only read once, when the format is loaded.  All other format entities are referenced back to the format file so if you change the company logo, etc., all drawings automatically update.  Check that you have "show format" checked in the page setup.

Guys,

I have done all that you suggested; "show format", all layers on,"view/update all sheets". Still no good!
I have checked the source format file and it still has those entities.

What does the "format_setup_file" do,in the Config_pro do ?
Is it similar to a *.dtl but specifically for a format?

3dlogix,

I checked "pro_format_dir" and it is set correctly.

I even tried re-inserting the formats, i.e. /File/Page setup/, and yes those missing entities are there when re-inserted.

RE: Problem with Drawing Formats

Maybe is a graphic card issue? Try to set ProE graphics to win32_gdi if is set to opengl (default) and vice-versa. Theis option is in config.pro and is called GRAPHICS.
