Solidworks preferences/profile??

Solidworks preferences/profile??

Solidworks preferences/profile??

(OP)
If I uninstall Solidworks and reinstall, how does the new installation remember all my old settings and preferences?  Is there a file somewhere and if so where is that file?

RE: Solidworks preferences/profile??

Check the FAQ section... it's all in there.

RE: Solidworks preferences/profile??

Before you uninstall use the Copy settings Wizard. Then you can restore the settings, etc... when you reinstall.

Everything is stored in the registry.

RE: Solidworks preferences/profile??

One other thing to keep in mind ...

For whatever the reason for the uninstallation, not all registry entries are removed, so it is possible that something you are trying to fix, may not be fixed if you don't clear the registry of all SW keys before reinstallation.
