Lost RT film

Lost RT film

Lost RT film

(OP)
Any Idea?

When move QC office to another building , All RT film was lost for a item completlty .The report was found and AI have the check sheet his own for the item.
But clint inspector not yet reviewed it.
He is requesting to reshoot all lost film arguing RT film must keep until final review stage of completed MDR.
The equipment is waiting hydrostatic pressure test.
Is his argument is well grounded ? any clear rule not to reshoot RT.

RE: Lost RT film

Tough situation. Has the RT film been reviewed by your AI and signed off as acceptable during fabrication of the item?
What is the role of the client's Inspector?

You should review the contract documents. If the documents state that the RT film must be retained for review and acceptance by the client's Inspector, you probably will need to re-shoot for final acceptance.

RE: Lost RT film

Would that fall under any kind of insurance?

RE: Lost RT film

This is merely business/contract agreement
you may have to re-shoot according to that agreement and not ASME involvement,
no harm to the vessel to shoot again. Your pocket will be jurt a little.
