Exported Model Accuracy

Exported Model Accuracy

Exported Model Accuracy

(OP)
Good Morning

Is there any setting in SolidWorks that will affect the exported models accuracy?

Thanks
Chris Tellers

RE: Exported Model Accuracy

what format are you going to export as or save as? iges, step, sat?

Depending on what format you save as, you can click the options button at the bottom of the "Save As" dialog box and chose what may work best as far as accuracy and best representation of the model.

Is that answer of any value?

RE: Exported Model Accuracy

As a graphics image, yes.

As a solid model part (dimensionally) ... not that I know of.

What are you actually trying to do? What problem(s) are you having?

cheers

We are saving the file out as a Parasolid to input into MasterCAM.

RE: Exported Model Accuracy

... and the accuracy of the imported-to-MasterCAM part is not sufficient?

We are seeing some tool path jumping and we wanted to see if we can clean it up with a tighter file.  Just seeing what are options are.

Thanks

RE: Exported Model Accuracy

Check out MastercamDirect at http://www.mastercam.com/

It is an add-on for MasterCAM which allows it to read SLDPRT files directly. No Export/import. That may eliminate your problem.

RE: Exported Model Accuracy

Chris,

Post an image of the problem.  We export to MasterCAM daily via Parasolid, IGES, & STEP with no problems.
