general drawing question (not SW related)

general drawing question (not SW related)

general drawing question (not SW related)

(OP)
This has nothing to do with SW but i figured I'd ask here since all the users here are quite knowledgeable.

question.
On a drawing (mold drawing) in the title block what does shrink mean.  I assume it's some sort of shrink factor but a shrink factor of what? The mold?

Thanks.

ahhh!  That makes more sense!

We get mould drawings from our customers to design our EOAT's from and I've always wondered what that meant.

Thanks!

RE: general drawing question (not SW related)

With our composite part molds, the shrink factor is the CTE of the mold matl, not the end product.

RE: general drawing question (not SW related)

A little clarification.  The shrink factor REPRESENTS the CTE of the mold matl.  The mold solid model is modeled at net of the finished part, then scaled to allow for the CTE.  The scaled model is what we send to vendors to create the mold.

What does CTE sand for?
