Currently when I make a viewport my only choice of shape is rectangular. I opened a template provided with AutoCAD which has an irregular shaped viewport.

How do I create a viewport from a polyline which can be drawn to fit around my title block and bill of materials.

What version do you use?

Under "mview" you would need options of "polygan" or "object".

Command: mview
Specify corner of viewport or
[ON/OFF/Fit/Shadeplot/Lock/Object/Polygonal/Restore/2/3/4] <Fit>:

Hi, I'm running LT. Polygonal & Object are not available. The price of being cheap is lack of functionality.

Thanks, I was beginning to think I was looking in the wrong places, should have known.

You can import and edit a polygonal viewport (created in ACAD) into LT.
