air over air system
air over air system

say is it possible to have an air cylinder actuate to make another air cylinder produce an aditional force above the system air pressure?
i have a 8" air cylinder double acting with a 2" rod working at 80 psi and it just don't have the force to do it's job good enough. i would like to place a cylinder yet to be computed in the lifting curcuit that will give the main cylinder an additional push to help lift the transfer on this machine. is this a practical way to increase the system air pressure? this added cylinder would take air on the cap end and the rod end would push it's air into the main cylinder to give it a pressure boost. thanks bob p.

RE: air over air system
Any reason for not going to air/oil? It's a standard product for most suppliers. You should be able to find a lot of information on the systems by searching the internet.
