Ductwork Design Software

Ductwork Design Software

Ductwork Design Software

(OP)
Looking for some feedback on ductwork design software.

Specifically, I'm considering the Elite Ductsize program or the ASHRAE T-Duct program.

Any pro's or con's you can give for either or any other suggestions for alternative programs would be greatly appreciated.

Currently we use APEC SuperDuctII but it's outdated and very limited in the library of fittings.

Others on my staff have made nice Excel spreadsheets but they have flaws.

RE: Ductwork Design Software

Are you looking for a cad program or one to calculate duct sizes?  For duct sizes I just use a "ductulator".  For cad there is Autodesk Building Systems, Cadpipe and Mech-Q all look pretty good at speeding up the drawing process.

Elite Ductsize is a nice program.  ACAD BAS also allows for exporting to Elite for duct run lenghts and fittings further decreasing information input effert.
Elite also has converging and diverging fittings for supply and return systems. The software autosizes the ductwork and calculates the friction pressure loses.
