Question reg. point loads on sheet pile wall

Question reg. point loads on sheet pile wall

Question reg. point loads on sheet pile wall

(OP)
I'm trying to use SPW911 to analyse small retention pond with four sheet pile walls. Two opposite walls of this box kind of structure will support turbine pumps of 1800 psf approx. Now I'm unable to model this condition using SPW 911 and I'm guessing this load due to pumps will have to be analyzed as surcharge of abt 2000 psf. I'm all confused as I don't have much experience with SPW. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
KCR

RE: Question reg. point loads on sheet pile wall

One limitation of SPW911 is that it can only analyze a uniform surcharge.  If the pumps are some distance from the walls, you may calculate the lateral surcharge pressure using a Boussinesq distribution, and select a uniform surcharge that approximates it.
