File management questions?

File management questions?

File management questions?

(OP)
1.) How do I remove a file from session/memory?  If I make changes to a part model and then close without saving, how do I completely remove it from session/memory, so that the old configuration is used?

2.) Is there a way to take an open part model and the associated drawing and save copies of them as new file names?  Such that the new drawing will use the new part model file that was created.

Thanks,

RE: File management questions?

RE: File management questions?

For Question #2, If you have the part and the drawing open, do a save-as on the part file, the drawing links will automatically change to reflect the new part name.  Be sure to do a save-as on the drawing as well, or you will over-write your original.  You need to get familiar with the links found in the drawing using the drop-down "edit" and then select "links".  You can "replace" links even if you didn't have the drawing file open when you did the save-as.
