Rubber lined pumps

Rubber lined pumps

(OP)
Hi everyone
Just wanna know, what type of polymer/rubber used in fabrication of rubber liner for slurry pump?
TQ

RE: Rubber lined pumps

We have about 10 or 12 rubber lined slurry pumps.  All of ours are in coker water service (water with coke fines).  All of ours are lined with Buna-N.  Any good material compatibility table should indicate if Buna is compatible with your pumpage.  Our pumps are manufactured by ASH Pump Company.

we have the worn out cast iron casing. We are trying to refurbish the pump with rubber lining. Is it possible for us? can we predict the lifespent of this pump?

RE: Rubber lined pumps

I have no experience reconditioning a worn cast iron pump by applying a rubber liner.  All of our rubber lined pumps were originally manufactured with the rubber liner.  For an existing pump, it would be necessary to apply a coating over the eroded/corroded surfaces.  I believe that there are coatings available that could do this.  The only company that I am familiar with that might make suitable coatings is Belzona.  As long as there is room to apply the coatings without interference between rotating and stationary parts, it should be possible. I suggest a Web search for Belzona, Rubber, Coating.
