eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

(OP)
In SW 2005 when I saved as an edrawings file none of the hidden parts in my assembly were shown in the edrawings viewer.  In SW 2006 every single hidden file is carried over to the eDrawings viewer which is not desirable.  Where is the option to de-select all hidden files so they will not be exported to eDrawings?

Thanks

RE: eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

You don't have the option of HLV you can only Hide it or make it transparent. - RMB the part in edrawings and you will find it... if you can't find it in the viewer then it's not avail. Also be sure UI mode is not depressed.

RE: eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

My answer to this was to have a second Assembly file with the 25 or so hidden parts (that are present in my main Assembly file) deleted.  I only use this second assembly file to save out to eDrawings for people to look at and not get confused by a whole bunch of extra parts that they don't need to see ... but that I need to keep in my main assembly.  I am sure this is clear as mud.

RE: eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

First point ... There is no "de-select all hidden files" option. The eDrawing program should  publish a SW assy drawing "as seen". If it does not, then you probably have a faulty install of the eDrawing program. There is a also a small possibility that the problem could be caused by a mismatched card/driver version. It could also be an eDrawing bug, but I have not heard of it here nor from other sources

Second point ... you did not need to create a second assy. You could have created a config of the main assy with the "offending" parts suppressed. But you should not have had to create either.

cheers

RE: eDrawings 2006 hidden part options

I noticed my version is doing this, too--just last night.  I'm on 2006, SP2.0, and getting some other glitches lately as well.

Strange that hidden parts are showing up in the eDrawing file as hidden--since they are able to be viewed within eDrawings by right-clicking and selecting Show Part.  I don't remember this happening previously.  Bloats the file size, too.

Anyone else seeing this?
