Its a few years since i finshed my HNC and ive been less than mentally stimulating maintenance work since, ive just had a job change that warrants remembering some of the relevant stuff that i learnt at college.
drives, power calculatons, harmonics etc which i remember understanding quite well at the time
anyone reccomend any good books or webites for a refresher preferably aimed at technician level
cheers

I also like "Advanced Electrical Engineering" by Shepherd, Morton and Spence but it is quite old and out of print I think.
If you are looking for a book on motors and drives from an IEC viewpoint, my clear favourite is "European Electric Motors, Drives and Controls" by Dr D G Searle. It is packed full with very practical information, very few equations. But it's expensive, definitely worth borrowing though e.g. it is in the IEE library in London, if you are a member you can borrow it through the post.
