TEG dehydration - oil-water interface

TEG dehydration - oil-water interface

(OP)
Hi guy,

I have a flash gas separator (3-phase separator) use to separate the natural gas from TEG solution (+ liquefied HC). the flash is a vertical vessel. Oil skimming is done manually (there is a bucket in the vessel).

Here is the question posted by my client:
How to know the oil-water interface for the purpose to skim off the oil?

we purpose as follow, close the liquid outlet from the flash, the liquid level will rise until skimming take place. By sampling, we will know whether to further skim off the oil.

As an option, put a glass to the flash gas separator to know the interface.

Is there any other way to know the oil-water interface?
