A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
(OP)
I am looking for some type of internet data base I can subscribe to in order to obtain current construction costs (labor & matl complete in place)of PVC, HDPE, RCP, prefab MH, inlets, Conc. pavemnt, etc.
I have the first 30 acre section of a 580 ac residential subdivision in the Houston area and need to compile the engineers estimate. A nationwide base of construction costs w/ a current adjustment factor for our SE Texas locale would do

They have online as well as CD based information.
Alternatively talk to some local firms doing the work and ask them about the range of prices for your work. It appears that this is standard stuff and they should be able to give you a budget price quickly. Just don't make it appear that you are playing any favourites.
You will want local validation of your estimates anyway if you use a national price (even with location factors) because prices can change faster than the databases can keep up with.

RE: A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
I was hesitant to contact any of my contractor friends because this will be a publicly bidded project as it is located in a P.I. Districtand they will prob hand in a bid. I anted to avoid any appearances.
But prices are changing so rapidly that my info from a similar project 2 years ago is way out of date.
I will check the data base you recomended.
Thanks Rick
