Extended SW Material Database

Extended SW Material Database

Extended SW Material Database

(OP)
I am looking to expand the SW default materials database.  Does anybody know where I can download the info for materials that are not in the default DB?  By doing this I hope to reduce design time by not having to create new material properties at the time of design.  I would like to find materials like cork, styrofoam, concrete, basicly anything that is not there already.  If everyone who has created new materials had a way to share them with everyone else, it would be a win-win situation.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Bloodclot

Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?

RE: Extended SW Material Database

If you have Matweb subscription you can download materials info directly to SW.

RE: Extended SW Material Database

I created my own, but not any building mtls you listed. Best to look up the mtl data and create a mtl DB. There are some avail on the web at a small cost.

I do have a subscription to matweb, but the properties of the ones I have D/L are not recognized by DBWorks for some reason.  Using them, results in the weight shown on the drawing being WAY off from what it should be.

RE: Extended SW Material Database

Is it "off" by a metric vs imperial conversion factor? Maybe you just need to adjust a "units" setting somewhere.

cheers

No the units were correct.  When I changed the material to one in the SW default DB the weight came out ok but I am not specifying the exact materal we build it with now.
