Could someone direct me to a nice source on the web that realtes soil, crushed rock, drain rock, riprap, sand.... cubic yardage to weight or ton.  This would be the density of common civil engineering type fills.

Thanks

circle4k,

There is likely too much variation depending on moisture content, gradation and dry unit weight at various degrees of compaction to make such a useful and accurate general reference for non-soil materials. I suggest that you can make an educated guess or better still datamine your own field/lab data on historical projects to come up with typical ranges.

The NAVFAC DM 7.01 has some general properties of different materials.  Most geotechnical/soils engineering texts do as well.
