Inaccessible Icons

Inaccessible Icons

Inaccessible Icons

(OP)
Hello,
I seem to be having some problems with a few of the icons. Many of them are not accessible and I can't seem to be able to figure out why. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Inaccessible Icons

A litle more info would help.

What isn't "accessible"?
What Application and Workbench are you in?
UNIX or Windows?

RE: Inaccessible Icons

(OP)
I'm using Ideas 9. The icons that aren't accessible are
  -Variational Sweep
  -Surface by boundary
  -mesh of curves
  -emboss
  -variational surface feature
  -offset surface
Many of the surface features are the ones I'm having trouble with. I'm new to Ideas and have been working on tutorials for some time now. Even following step by step, the icons are not accessible. I'm on the meshing section of the tutorials, in the modeling task. This is all on Windows 2000.

RE: Inaccessible Icons

It's been a while since I've used I-DEAS, but it sounds to me like you don't have a license for the surfacing module.

RE: Inaccessible Icons

As dgowans says, it's most likely a license issue. All the options missing are from the Advanced Surfacing module.

I'm a little confused as to the Application your running, if you are in Meshing within Simulation then the Surfacing options also won't be available. Make sure you're working within the "Design" Application and using either the Master Modeller or Product Modeller workbench.

It may also be that you have closed the bank of Icons required. When you're in the right Application/Workbench, right mouse click over the icons and make sure "Modeler Tools" is checked.
