Can you copy properties from one part to another

Can you copy properties from one part to another

On various configurations on a single default...Can propeties be copied from on configuration to the other? Right now I am manually selecting each propety name and entering the value for each propety. Some configurations are the form part and the flat pattern. If I could just copy for those because they are the same would eliminate 1/2 of the setup time.

Thanks

RE: Can you copy properties from one part to another

What version of solidworks are you running. If you have 2005 and up you can select the row numbers that are to the left. Ctrl select to highlight more than one row. Then copy and paste them into the configuration properties. I hope this is clear enough if not I can provide some screen shots.

Jon

We are on 2006. I can select the rows as you  said but I cannot copy them. If I right click when they are selected nothing happens and the edit button on top is not active.

Thanks

RE: Can you copy properties from one part to another

Why not enter properties that are the same for all configs in under the custom tab (properties apply to all configs) and only the properties that are different under the configuration specific tab.  If you have the same property name in both the custom and configuration specific, the config specific value is what will populate the drawing.

Insert / Design Table....then let it auto populate the properties. Then fill in the others by copy/paste.

RE: Can you copy properties from one part to another

Copy Custom Info macro available @ EsoxRepublic.com.  Allows selection of properties from any config, copy to any config.  Allows copying between configs in same file, but you still have to go through the motions of opening the azctive doc.

I could be the world's greatest underachiever, if I could just learn to apply myself.

RE: Can you copy properties from one part to another

You cannot use the right-click menu to copy and paste. use the standard window keyboard commands. Ctrl+C(Copy) and Crtl+V(Paste)
